Share an Embarrasing Trend or Phase
Hey, it’s Jackson with a fairly short, quick activity, but this is the fun one. I think you’re going to enjoy it. Again, a lot of these, even when we’re not like teaching something formal, are meant to be tools that, what they’re doing is essentially just fostering some basics of psychological connection and cohesion within teams or within groups. So this kind of icebreaker-type activity is one of the funnier ones that I’ve been a part of. I remember doing it back when I was in Cor. A manager of mine did it, and we all loved it. So I hope it goes over well.
You need your phone for this. People need their phones, and what you’re going to do is share an embarrassing trend or phase that you were part of. So you’re going to pick an embarrassing trend or phase you were part of. Ideally, find a picture for that, share it with the group, kind of talk about it, and have a good laugh. So when we did this as a group the first time, right, there was a lot of—some folks that are a few years older—there was a couple that had some nice, like frosted tips in their prom photos, a couple with huge, like super baggy jeans and Timberlands. And then I’ll show you the one that I went with. So here you have it. Now, this was not necessarily a trend; this was more of a phase. But yeah, that one’s a doozy. I think the caption is certainly accurate. Let’s bring that back. So I hope you enjoy that one as much as I don’t really enjoy thinking about you all seeing that. But the idea here is just to have fun and get to know one another, right, and share a laugh together.
So there’s your assignment. You’re going to just pick, go back to your phone, look through, you have some old pictures, check your old Facebook. You’ll find some real winners there, and share an embarrassing trend or phase, talk a little bit about that, have a good laugh, and get to know one another. And that’s it for this video. I’ll see you next time.
